Governor of the Central Bank of Syria chairs the Council of Arab Central Bank Governors

The Governor of the Central Bank of Syria, Mr. "Safwat Raslan", assumed the chairmanship of the Council of Arab Central Banks and Monetary Authorities' Governors for this year, and chaired the proceedings of the fiftieth session of the Council, which was held in Abu Dhabi, attended by the governors of Arab central banks and monetary authorities, to discuss the most prominent monetary and banking issues of concern to the region.

The chairmanship of the Council afforded the Central Bank of Syria a direct presence in the Arab monetary dialogue, and participation in the discussion of the dossiers related to monetary and banking stability, the development of payment systems, and the economic challenges facing the region.

The fiftieth session took on particular importance as a milestone that brought together the Arab monetary leadership in one of the most prominent platforms for Arab banking dialogue and coordination, and it reflected the presence of the Central Bank of Syria and its role in the course of joint monetary action.

The Governor of the Central Bank of Syria's chairmanship of the Council coincided with the celebration of the Golden Jubilee of the Arab Monetary Fund, on the occasion of 50 years since its establishment and its role in supporting Arab monetary and financial cooperation and stability.
