Syrian-Emirati memorandum of understanding to enhance banking and supervisory cooperation

The Governor of the Central Bank of Syria, Mr. Safwat Raslan, and the Governor of the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates, Mr. Khaled Mohamed Balama, signed a memorandum of understanding to enhance cooperation in the financial, supervisory, and technical fields of mutual interest. The memorandum covers payment systems, monetary policy, fintech, sustainable finance, financial inclusion, and consumer protection, in support of developing the banking sector, enhancing its efficiency, and keeping it abreast of regional and international requirements and developments. The memorandum constitutes a new step toward expanding banking cooperation between Syria and the UAE.
